Experts in Marine Diesel Exhaust Cleaning
for Boats, Yachts, and Ocean Vessels

Particulate Matter, often referred to as PM, is a comprehensive term encompassing various air pollutants that vary in size and composition depending on their source, location, and timing of release. PM essentially denotes pollution in the form of minuscule particles. These particles are present in the air, and with every breath we take, we inevitably inhale them. Despite being typically invisible, particulate matter is the most common form of air pollution, and it has significant implications for our health.

PM generated by yachts and other ocean vessels is primarily of a chemical nature. These particles form from sources that involve fuel combustion and the release of gases. The process begins with the vaporization of pollutants, such as diesel fuel, which subsequently condense into particles with identical chemical compositions.

When we encounter terms like PM10 and PM2.5 in the reports by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), these figures refer to the overall weight of the particles. PM10 particles measure between 2.5 and 10 microns in diameter (for context, the diameter of a human hair is roughly 60 microns). PM2.5 particles are even smaller, measuring less than 2.5 microns. The smaller the particle, the longer it remains suspended in the air we breathe and the waters we treasure.

The EPA has established that marine vessels significantly contribute to the degradation of air and water quality. In fact, a single engine on a cruise or cargo ship is substantial enough that, if it were on land, it would be classified as a major source of polluting emissions, thereby necessitating mandatory emission controls. PM pollution stemming from these vessels poses a substantial threat to our environment, prompting the need for effective solutions to mitigate its impact on air and water quality.

Benefits of the clean-exhaust System:

  • Effective emulsification of toxic particulates
  • Improved air quality for breathing
  • Cleaner harbors and waterways
  • Preservation of ocean purity
  • Environmental friendliness towards marine life
  • Enhanced coexistence with other docked crews
  • Labor-saving technology
  • Potential extension of hull paint lifespan

The clean-exhaust Crew is dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle and preserving the oceans. Our mission is to contribute to the solution for marine pollution, rather than being a part of the problem.
